Nighthawks fall in the opener

ANNANDALE – Kaitlyn Roberts scored 11 points to lead the Northern Virginia Community College women's basketball team, but Prince George's came away with the 102-30 season opening victory.

The Nighthawks begin the season 0-1 and return to the floor Wednesday, Nov. 6 against Baltimore City at 5 p.m.

PGCC's stout defense kept the NOVA offense quiet in the second half, as the Nighthawks could only muster nine points. During the second 20 minutes, NOVA shot just 4-of-15 and turned the ball 34 times

The Owls, meanwhile, shot a blistering 46 percent from the floor in the second half going 21-for-45.
